The Afghan Institute for Strategic Studies – Herat office held a poetry recitation program on the occasion of 1161st anniversary of the father of Persian poetry, Abu Abdullah Jafar bin Mohammed, known as Rudaki Samarkandi
The event was attended by university lecturers, students and civil society activists.
At First, Mr. Mohammad Nasser Rahyab, Herat University lecturer, spoke about the personality dimensions of Rudaki Samarkandi citing Rudaki’s essay titled "The Colors of Happiness in Rudaki's Colorful Words".
He said we can always find the signs of happiness in the Rudaki’s poems and by reading them, one can experience happiness.
The event ended with recitation of poems by Rudaki and other Farsi poems.
