AISS held a Lecture Session on The Political and Social Dimensions of the First Afghan-British War 1839 – 1842

Thursday 22 August 2019, the regional office of Afghan Institute for Strategic Studies (AISS) in Herat organized a lecture session to discuss the political and social dimensions of the first Afghan-British War, with a presentation by Farrokh Hussain, Researcher and Lecturer of history at the University of London, and Ali Kousha.
This program was participated by members of academia and civil society activist.
“The Afghan-British Relationship in the 19th century”, "The Role of Women in the First Afghan-British War", “the Afghan Soldier’s Way of Fighting and Advanced Weapons” and “The Role of Both Countries’ Diplomats in the War” were the issues which was discussed in the program.
The program also covered parts of the book ‘Afghanistan in the age of Empires’ authored by Mr. Farrokh Hussein.
This event ended by a Q&A session
