Celebrating the 1013th birthday of Khwaja Abdullah Ansari

On Saturday, May 4th, 2019, Afghan Institute for Strategic Studies Herat office, commemorated the 1013th birthday of Khwaja Abdullah Ansari, in the Zarnegar house which is located in Gaazar-gah.

Government officials, scholars and influencers, clerics, academics, university professors, civil society activists and the media participated in this event.

Dr. Ahmad Ghani Khosrawi, Head of Literature Faculty of Herat University, and Abdulrahman Azizi, Member of Khwaja Abdullah Ansari Research Group, were the speakers of this event. Jawid Nabizade, cultural activist, moderated the panel.

In the beginning of the program, Dr. Ahmad Ghani Khosrawi provided information on the work Khwaja Abdullah Ansari.

Mr. Khosrawi said that ‘Peer-e-Herat’ (the Master of Herat) Khaje Abdullah Ansari is one of the most famous philosophers of the Muslim world, and his work on Mysticism is one of a moderate type based on Islamic law (Shariat).
 Abdul Rahman Azizi introduced the mystical character of ‘Peer-e-Herat’ and introduced some influential figures that had influenced the character of Ansari Heravi.

Mr. Mojib Rahman Ansari spoke about Ansari’s position in the Islamic world.
In the end of the event, the statues of the “Qand Parsi” Festival were donated to two prominent poets of Herat, Rohul Amin Amini and Mozhgan Faramanesh, followed by a Q&A session.
