On Tuesday 24 April 2018, the Afghan Institute for Strategic Studies (AISS) organized the third round of “Herat and Politics” meeting. The third round of this meeting devoted to “Religious Discourses and Socio-Political Transitions in Herat”. This one-day meeting covered three panel discussions: 1) “Tolerance, Convergence and religious discourses”, 2) “Rituals, Institutional Dialogue and Dogmatism” and 3) “Madrassas and the Genealogy of Religious Trends in Herat”. Participants of the meeting were governmental officials, members of the parliament, policy makers, academics, media and civil society activists.
