The second round of the Pakistan-Afghanistan Bilateral Dialogue was held in Herat on October 4, 2015, with the theme “Afghanistan-Pakistan Dialogue: Mapping Challenges and Opportunities”.
Afghan Institute for Strategic Studies (AISS) organized the dialogue in collaboration with the Regional Peace Institute (RPI) of Pakistan.
The director general of the AISS, Dr. Davood Moradian, inaugurated the dialogue with the opening remarks, followed by the director of RPI, Mr. Raoof Hassan, the former foreign minister and national security advisor of Afghanistan, Dr. Rangin Dadfar Spanta.
The dialogue consisted of three working session, in addition to the concluding session. The first session discussed the assessment of recent developments in bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan. The second session focused on the terrorism from diversion to conversion, while the third session discussed the international perspectives on the bilateral issues between Afghanistan and Pakistan. The dialogue concluded with a joint press conference by the AISS and RPI delegates.
